Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

حلقة (“Halaka”) is a Qur'an reader, memorization (Sulam), and daily‑worship companion. We built it to be private by default. We do not show ads, we do not run analytics or trackers, and we never sell your data. This policy explains what the app stores and the few third‑party services it uses.

What stays on your device

Your reading and memorization data is stored locally on your device and is not sent anywhere unless you sign in (see below):

You can erase all of it any time from Settings → Reset.

Optional account & sync

If you choose to create an account (email or Google sign‑in), we store the following in Google Firebase so your work syncs across your devices and so a teacher can review your recitation:

Signing in is entirely optional — the reader works fully without an account. To delete your account and its data, contact us at the email below.

Location

If you use the prayer‑times feature, the app reads your device location only to compute prayer times and the qibla direction on your device. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored — the calculation happens entirely on your phone. You can decline the location permission and enter times another way.

Third‑party services

Push notifications

Notifications are used only if a teacher enables them, to alert available teachers when a student requests a recitation review. You can turn them off in your device settings.

Children

The app is suitable for a general audience. It collects no personal information beyond what is described above, and only when you choose to sign in.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Questions or requests (including account deletion): mtlhalaka@gmail.com.
